Margaret is a physical therapist with 50 years’ experience in hands on treatment.

“My experiences have come from every field of physical therapy in a wide range of settings in five states. Two areas are of particular interest to me because of the challenge to find information or a common pathway of treatment in the fields of pain resolution and breath training. Through my work and continuing education, I have sought answers to these three questions: How has physical therapy expanded over the years, how does posture contribute to pain solutions, and how can we incorporate breath education to further patients’ sense of self and control over their own physical bodily environment.

My experience, learning, and certifications encompass broad and comprehensive subjects and practices all addressing these questions to some degree. My goal is to help any client who comes to me, including recognizing if I cannot help someone and steering my client in a better direction.

Seeking new information has led me into the following areas of study and achievement:

·         Earning a Master’s degree in physical therapy education

·         Becoming a certified Feldenkrais practitioner (a four year process)

·         Becoming a Yoga Instructor

·         Teaching meditation awareness for personal support and growth

In addition, my practice includes the following specialties:

·         Hands on client work in CranioSacral therapy through the Upledger Institute

·         Lymph drainage therapy

·         Visceral manipulation

·         Reflex reintegration

·         Communication skills and understanding of psychological aspects of health.

My present caseload is about working with painful tissue no matter where it resides in the body or how long it’s been with the person plus breath training to ease tension and pain.

As a whole, we humans have little patience with our bodies. We push them hard and then are told that exercising even harder will solve all our ills.

The body does not like being hit with a 2x4. We are organized to be strong through the subtlety of listening for the whisper in the crowded room and returning to balance. Repairing pain caused by overexertion requires returning to some basic principles in order to relieve inflammation and swelling.

If I can help you, I can be reached at 205/999/9070 or feldypittenger@gmail.com. I will be happy to discuss your problem with you and to help if I can.
